2004 AHHA Golf Tourney
The AHAA annual golf tourney was organized and held at Delburne on the Fawn Meadows links. Weather was bee-uu-ti-ful.  A grand time was had by all.  Kathleen Charlton won the prize for first person to completely wear out a ball by hitting it so many times.  It is my pleasure to announce that none other than the Goober of Golf, Mr. Dorf on Golf himself, Phil Pazdor emerged from the ruins (and I mean ruins) as the 2004 AHAA Tourney Champ.  For a while it was looking like we maybe would not be able to complete the round as the local grounds keeper was brought in to estimate the damage that Darilyn and Kathleen had instilled upon their fine track.  Well, a few hundred dollars changed hands and we were permitted to continue.
Except for a short break in the action as the local Fire Dept was summoned to put out Phil's putter, it proved to be a great day.  This fiasco, or should I say tourney, was then followed up with a kick ass bbq at my shack.  Burgers, beer, and broads. What more could a guy ask for?  It was around the fire that Phil showed his true colors as he let slip the truth that he has been practicing all summer while being employed on the UIC golf team.  Now it makes sense.

Report on 2003 Annual Golf Day

The Appaloosa Horse Association of Alberta is please to announce that Phil Pazdor, Airdrie, Alberta has successfully defended his title and is again the AHAA Golf Champion.

The annual AHAA golf bashabout took place on Saturday, August 16 on what was supposed to have been according to everyweather forecaster - a bright, sunny 32 degree day.

In the morning, as eager players converged on the Spirit Creek Golf & Country Club, a light Scottish moors-like mist fell. But all were confident in the predictions of the seldom-wrong weather forecasters & they set out anticipating a lovely day on the
links. As the morning progressed, the light mist increased to a light drizzle & by noon was a steady rain.

One wimpy foursome (not to be named), quit at the 11th hole & headed for the clubhouse!!

Eventually, the rain ceased, the sun peeked out & the wimpy foursome headed out to finish, but not without much grumbling.

Dispite the rain, the AHAA golf day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Some had not golfed in over 10 years, some only once or twice before.

After all the scores were in......the Low Gross was Ed Tillapaugh from Vegreville, Alberta who shot an incredible 70 for the 18 holes!

Phil Pazdor came in with an 82 and as the AHAA member with the best score, is crowned the 2003 AHAA Golf Champion, getting
to keep the BIG trophy on the Pazdor mantlepiece for another year.

Best Lady Golfer was Marge Chambers, Red Deer and her daughter Jennie McFadden also from Red Deer was Runner-Up Lady.

The golfer that day (we don't want to say the Worst Golfer, but...) whose score indicated that he can use a little more practise, was
Joe Chambers, Red Deer, Alberta winning the plastic toy golf set & the Snoopy Golf Champion.

Thanks to the donors of the prizes - CAT THE RENTAL STORE, Red Deer; PETROCANADA; RED DEER BOTTLING, Red Deer;
DEIDRE DAVIES, Calgary; & DARILYN McKENNA, Calgary, Alberta.

Thanks to everyone who came out & donated.
It was great day & nice to see folks get together for some different activities.

FUN EVENTS ENJOYED IN THE YEAR 2000:
 Day at the Races
May 6, 2000
Following is Phil Pazdor's report on the 'Day at the Races':

"On May 6th, (Derby Day), an intrepid band of AHAA members descended upon Stampede Park to see how good a judge of horseflesh they were, even if the horse was not a Appaloosa.  A fun time was had by all.  Some betting slips were cashed, some help fill the trash bins. I even found out that there is truth to the line 'Bet on the Grey'.  What is missing from the line is, 'but not to win!'."

Annual Golf Day
